Hypocrites and Liars...Especially In the Church!

So it's no secret that the world is full of Hypocrites and Liars.  I'm sure if you ask anyone on the street they could tell you a story about how their lives have been affected by one of the aforementioned.

Contrary to what some people would like to think, The Church is no exception!  The Church is full of Hypocrites and Liars...mainly because the church is full of people...sinful human beings.  What sucks is that these people's actions represent a much bigger entity known as GOD and they end up giving Him an extremely bad rap...one which He definitely does not deserve!

After several years of talking with students, you feel like you've heard just about every story...and if not, you've at least heard a scenario that is quite similar.  One thing that never gets less devastating to hear is when a student tells you that someone in the church (staff members in particular) has done something to cause them to turn away from God or seriously question their faith (and not in a good way).  I HATE hearing that...it makes me so mad and at the same time makes me extremely sad for the student that they were treated in a manner that would drive them away from the Lord.

Most Lucrative College Degrees...

Everybody Everybody get your MATH on!  If you're considering changing majors, you may want to check out one of these:

However, my friend's wife got a degree to be a Nurse Anesthetist and got offered a Buck Twenty before she even graduated...so I'm thinking that a degree in the Medical field might be a smart, recession-proof choice...especially with all the "Boomers" continuing to age!

If there's one thing that I know about College Students (for the most part)...it's that their diets suck!  Whether it's due to convenience and lack of time or just those dollar bills, it's much easier and cheaper to eat unhealthy than it is to choose healthy alternatives.  I used to eat cheeseburgers and nachos at 3am when I was in school and you'll quickly realize later in life (when you're not 21 years old anymore) that it will catch up to you.

Another thing that I've found is that despite the poor diets of students, many of them care about being in shape…probably to attract the opposite sex.  The girls want to stay lean and toned for the guys and the guys want to get big muscles for the girls (not that they really care about that).  Unfortunately these days, there are a lot of products on the market that people are buying to aid in these attempts and most of them are very bad for your health.

I found this article today and thought it would be a good one to post to help students get an idea of some healthy things they can eat that will be good for their bodies and also help them stay fit in the process.

I Love Golf...

This is most definitely the longest course, Tee-to-Green, in the world...but possibly the one with the most scenery and the best stories involved.  Check it out here:

I'm not sure if you knew this, but I've been golfing since I was 1.5 years old.  I played competitively through my years as a junior, an amateur, at a D1 college level, and was an Asst. Pro right out of college.  Golf has been a huge part of my life and it's a game that I continue to love, but also learn a lot of life lessons from (I'm sure there will be future posts derived from those lessons).

I have golfed in some sweet places (Hawaii, The Virgin Islands, etc.) but this would be the sickest adventure!  Let me know if you want to go!

By the way, I calculated it...I would have to take 47 boxes of Cliff Bars and 116 Bananas with me to play this course...just sayin'.
