Thoughts on Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is an American Icon...wait, scratch that....He's a UNIVERSAL ICON!!  I think everyone in existence has listened to or been inspired by his music and dance moves at some point or another.  I know I grew up on his music and even still to this day try to dance like him...just ask my wife!

I have to pay respect to him as one of the most talented musicians/entertainers to ever live.  He did absolutely incredible and revolutionary things and affected people all over the globe.  He definitely deserves much appreciation and credit for what he has done for the entertainment industry.

It is said that he is quite possibly the most recognizable and famous person on the entire planet.

Spring Break Interviews Are FINALLY Here!

(may take some time to load...if you are experiencing trouble viewing here, please check out our Vimeo Page at vimeo.com/user1871093/videos )

While We Minus Me was down in Panama City Beach, FL this year for Spring Break, we decided to ask some students some of their thoughts on everything from Spring Break itself to God and their relationship with Him.  This is a compilation of just a handful of the students we talked to and what they had to say.

A BIG thanks goes out to jillyBean and mikeNikes for their help in editing these videos and helping us get them online.

Would love to hear your feedback on the video.

Carrie Prejean Stripped Again...

Carrie Prejean, Miss California...you know, the one that was ridiculed for her answer regarding Same-Sex marriage and had racy pictures released of her shortly after the Miss USA pageant.  The one that represented Christianity...sorta.  Well, after stripping down for those photos and almost losing her Title previously…She’s Stripped Again!  Check the article here:

This is my question...that I've asked before and will continue to ask numerous times over I'm sure...

Why do the most RIDICULOUS people always seem to represent Christianity...and South Carolina ( I just threw that one in there because they always pick the dumbest box of rocks on the planet to represent South Carolina for anything...

This one is a Highlight Reel of We Minus Me in Panama City Beach during Spring Break, put together and edited by one of our Spring Break teammates (and We Minus Me blogger) jillyBean...Hope you enjoy and stay tuned for the next ones.  Oh Yeah and if you like what you see...come join us for our Next Event!

Credit Score Sham

Recently a Bill has been passed by the President that affects Credit in numerous ways.  One of the ways this is played out is by targeting companies that make false claims about offering Free Credit Reports and Credit Monitoring Services.  I'm sure you've seen the commercials on TV...I actually think they're kinda funny:

Here's the Article that sparked this post:

It's All Fun and Games Til Someone Makes a Fake I.D.

The DMV is cracking down on...

SMILES??

That's right folks, you can no longer smile in your DMV photo because it might make it easier to pass those fakies...check the post here:

www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2009-05-25-licenses_N.htm

I think this is ridiculous...now the government is telling me whether or not I can smile when there's a photo taken of me...well FORGET them!!  Here's a few of my DMV Photo attempts...

(Constipated?)

(Narcpleptic)

(No Idea...)

(WTF??)

You should have seen the faces of the people around me on the patio when I was taking these pictures...ridiculous!  This would be a great time to introduce one of my spectacular inventions, but I think I'll save it for next time...

Don't ya'll be smilin' now!

Walmart Takes a Stand Against Profanity...

Recently, some words have developed between the ever-popular Green Day and the nation's biggest retailer Walmart...one thing is for sure, these words weren't censored.  Catch the full story here:

new.music.yahoo.com/green-day/news/green-day-lashes-out-at-wal-mart-policy--61988870

Walmart will not carry any albums that have a Parental Advisory on them.  They will carry artists who produce such albums, but they must produce an "Edited" version to claim shelf-space at the Superstore.  Depending on how you look at it, this could be good or bad.

Some claim that the artistry is limited because the product that was originally produced has been altered and no longer packs the punch it once did.  There are times when I would agree with this statement, but there are also times when I think artists use excessive profanity when it's not necessary and mainly because they can't think of anything more creative to say.

Joe the Plumber...Think Before You Speak!

Joe the Plumber should use an internal filter before he opens his mouth (If you don't know who Joe the Plumber is...just Wiki him!)  You have to take a second to think these days before you go just saying what comes into your brain...especially if you're going to be a spokesperson for Christianity that already has image problems in the media.  Check the article here:

www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/05/04/joe-the-plumber-queer-mea_n_196116.html

Joe makes a reference to people that are homosexual as "queer"...and then explains what the word means according to the dictionary.  He then chooses to bring God into the mix and explain God's views through Joe the Plumber's eyes...Awesome!  Here's a direct quote:

"You know, God is pretty explicit in what we're supposed to do--what man and woman are for. Now, at the same time, we're supposed to love everybody and accept people, and preach against the sins. I've had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn't have them anywhere near my children. But at the same time, they're people, and they're going to do their thing."

Blondie vs. Blogger

Here's some thoughts by one of our favorite guest bloggers..."bigSwirl"

Perez Hilton’s panties are in a bunch. He asked a controversial question and flipped out when he didn’t get the answer he wanted. So in response, the always articulate and illuminating Hilton ascended to the highest forms of rhetoric and expression: name calling. I don’t know much about pageants, but the girls I’ve known who were involved were by in large really classy women. It takes a lot of work to look that good, and there is so much pressure involved in competition on every level; not to mention on the live-in-front-of-network-audiences level. I say give the girl a break. She looked hot, put in the work, and answered an incendiary question with integrity.
